Checklist for a self-drive rental
- A valid driving licence.
- An International Driving Permit if your licence is not written in English or French.
- Your passport (visitors) or national ID (residents).
- The refundable security deposit for your car, confirmed with you in writing before the booking.
Renting with a driver
If you book a car with a driver, you do not need a driving licence. We only need the name and phone number of the main passenger.
The security deposit
The deposit depends on the car you choose. It is refunded when the car is returned in the same condition. We tell you the exact amount before you confirm, so there are no surprises at pickup.

At pickup

Frequently asked questions
Can I use my foreign driving licence in Rwanda?
Visitors can drive with a valid licence from their home country. If it is not in English or French, bring an International Driving Permit too.
